Henkels & McCoy, Inc., one of the largest privately held national utility contracting firms, with offices in 80 cities  operating with a reputation as one of the most reliable and innovative firms in construction, is currently seeking an Senior Financial Analyst in our Houston, TX office.  

The Senior Financial Analyst will support the Financial Reporting, Planning and Analytics roles within the organization. This will require in-depth knowledge of construction project based accounting, strong analytical and data mining skills, and excellent communication skills as this role will interact across operational and functional departments.

    1. Reconciliation of business development and operational information into one, concise rolling forecast utilizing the standard application
    2. Bridge prior forecast to current forecast vs quarter vs annual
  2. Reporting and Analytics
    1. Accurate and timely reporting to assess job performance
      1. Budget vs Actual
      2. Defined KPIs
      3. Resource Utilization
      4. Procurement plan vs actual
      5. DSO and Aging
      6. Management Discussion and Analysis with focus on remediation
    2. Accurate and timely reporting to assess overhead/SG&A spends
      1. Budget vs Actual
      2. Defined KPIs
      3. Management Discussion and Analysis with focus on remediation
    3. Cash flow
      1. Initial project plan
      2. Status
  3. Internal Audit
    1. Audit programs
    2. Audit processes and transactions associated with
      1. Procurement
      2. Payroll
      3. Job Cost
      4. Expense reports
  4. Support Fleet analytics
    1. Analyze and report costs for division
    2. Prepare analytics of over/under allocation
    3. Business case modeling supporting capital expenditure
  5. Bid/Rate sheet comparison to actuals




Qualified candidates will possess a Bachelor’s degree in Finance or Accounting, a minimum of 5 years relevant experience or an advanced degree with 2 years relevant experience. A command of advanced Microsoft Excel, general proficiency with all Microsoft Office products and the ability to develop and deliver Management level presentations utilizing Microsoft Powerpoint are essential for any successful candidate. The position will report directly to the Controller and will be located in the Houston office. Ability to travel 30% of time.
