The purpose of this position is to support statewide residential and commercial contractor field techs with installation of work orders.

Major Job Elements

• Knowledge of typical work orders while using our local biller, AS400
• Able to understand and utilize WorkAssure (workforce management tool) for field tech’s job support
• Closely watch, route, and reassign jobs in WorkAssure if field tech is running late or job is in jeopardy
• Effectively communicate, review, clarify, and update work orders with billing problems or requests that cannot be done on the field techs’ electronic device
• Answer field techs’ WorkAssure texts and phone requests in a timely manner
• Perform hand-offs within and outside his/her group for lunches, breaks, and shift changes
• Able to contact and/or speak to customers to accomplish field tech needs
• Develop good relations with foremen, field techs, dispatchers, and other operations support members to increase collaboration efforts to a maximum efficiency level

***Required to register with IBEW Local 1186


Working Conditions:

• Sit for long periods of time at the desk
• Communication methods include:  telephone, email, and WorkAssure texting
• Charter’s operation support center will provide computers with three monitors and phones with headsets for each dispatcher


• Type at least 40 words ppm
• Ability to multitask with multiple screens and programs at the same time
• Excellent listening and verbal skills
• Effectively resolve problems on the fly and under pressure
• Knowledge of typical customer inquiries and skills are helpful but not required
• Proficient dispatching skills, preferred but not required
• Good understanding of statewide island geographics (i.e. streets, traffic) for routing purposes, very helpful
