The Business Development Manager is the primary relationship manager for key customer accounts and is responsible for performing business development and marketing activities to grow business from customers in the public and private sectors within H&M’s East Region geography (PA, VA, MD, MA, CT).

 

Major Job Elements

Responsibilities:

 

  1. Primary point-of-contact to support Business Development, Sales and Marketing efforts in our Telecommunications construction and design services. Must develop a core understanding of the unique business needs of the customers within their industry.
  • Perform and manage research and client contact information.
  • Prepare and execute business development action plans for specific targets.
  • Support the development of proposals, presentations and marketing materials.
  • Prepare and deliver effective presentations to internal and external customers.
  • Participate in Sales & Operations team meetings, including monthly sales funnel review meetings.
  • Assess client needs to optimize up-selling and cross-selling opportunities across lines of business.
  1. Establish, foster and maintain a proactive relationship with key contacts and decision makers.    Anticipate customer needs to effectively tailor strategies and solutions.
  • Pursue and deliver face to face meetings, discussions and development opportunities with existing and potential customers.
  • Maintain and strengthen customer relationships by understanding customer missions, priorities and H&M’s role in successful attainment.
  • Manage a robust sales funnel of opportunities for assigned accounts in Salesforce.com (SFDC) and document meetings, discussion topics, action plans and next steps.
  • Increase H&M revenue year over year in assigned accounts.

 

  1. In close cooperation with the Sr. Leadership team, facilitate development of strategic direction to capture and grow customer business. Provide key information (i.e. working tactical plans, weekly summary status, future activity calendar, business plan details, etc.) and consult on approach strategies in collaboration with H&M operations and management personnel through regular briefings.
  • Travel, sometimes overnight, will be required.

 

Qualifications

Qualifications:

 

      • Bachelor’s Degree in Business Management, Marketing, and/or Engineering degree.
      • Must have 10+ years strong proven experience in outside field sales and business development (Required)
      • 5+ years of experience in with Telecommunications carriers in the Eastern United States (Preferred)
      • Experience producing highly professional proposals and presentations.
      • Excellent computer skills (MS Office, CRM Systems).
      • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
