Major Job Elements

  • Develops financial reports to determine forecasts, trends and results analysis. Records, classifies and summarizes financial transactions and events in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles.
  • Interprets financial transactions and events for economic and business decision makers.
  • Analyses financial data and extracts and clarifies relevant information.
  • Reporting - maintain routine, standardized reports; revise and reconcile reports to reflect accounting changes, new accounts, reorganizations, etc.
  • Cost/Variance analysis - variance analysis focused on explaining actual costs before, during, and after closing
  • Research vendor statements, discrepancies, inquiries; document resolution and/or process invoice adjustments
  • Process receivers, debit and credit memos as needed using GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Practices)
  • Provide support to the senior accounting staff on an as needed basis on a variety of tasks and projects


  • Bachelor’s Degree in a Business field and experience in the Financial Industry.
  • 0-2 years of experience (internship OK).
  • Understanding of general accounting principles as they apply to the industry.
  • Understanding of general process controls, with knowledge of database, spreadsheet applications, and data modelling, including Microsoft Excel, Access and other Office applications.
  • Superior Communication Skills, both oral and written.
  • Ability to work independently well within a team environment.
  • Excellent Time Management, Interpersonal, and Problem-Solving Skills. - Ability to concurrently manage multiple projects, and prioritize effectively to meet tight and enforced Operational and annual deadlines for the firm.
  • Attention to detail and quality of work. - Ability to consistently exercise sound and decisive judgment. - Commitment to personal development.
