The Associate Project Manager II assists in providing project-related management for construction projects across various markets within an assigned Region or Division. This position is responsible for utilizing H&M's Project Management Methodology to manage all phases of the construction project lifecycle and accountable for all aspects of each project's success. The Associate Project Manager Ii contributes to the direct support of other functional project teams in the planning and execution of the job including resolving issues, managing resources, project coordination, interfacing with client representatives, and oversight of project accounting.

Major Job Elements

  • Contributes in the management of overall project performance, and may manage this effort directly.
  • Under guidance, assists in identifying potential stakeholder conflicts and facilitating resolution.
  • Assists the Project Manager in monitoring risk, updating the Regional Management Team, and working with Project Controllers to ensure risk budget and risk data integrity.
  • Works cross-functionally with other project team members to draft updates to the risk matrix as risks are mitigated or new risks arise and partners with the Project Controllers to ensure budget and risk allocation integrity.
  • Assists in leading implementation of methodology, tools and approaches using fundamentals of H&M Project Management practices.
  • Implements project/program plans as assigned.
  • Learning the business components to understand what problems and possible implications/risks are being addressed.

  • Under the supervision of a Senior Project Manager/Project Manager, leads the effort to ensure compliance with the Henkels & McCoy established Project Management Methodology and upholds H&M safety and quality management protocols.
  • Guides field engineers and may assume limited formal management responsibilities.

  • Actively identify opportunities to improve relationships and communications and influence accordingly.


  • BS degree in Project Management, Engineering, or Construction related field; or equivalent work experience.
  • 2 years’ experience supporting project related efforts.
  • General understanding of construction and utility industry practices.
  • Exposure to Critical Path Scheduling software (Primavera or comparable scheduling tool) and experienced in MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint.
  • Completion of 3 H&M PMP online courses to earn Associates Certificate
